MODUPE LABODE, PH.D.

MODUPE LABODE, PH.D. is the National Museum of American History's co‐director of the Center for Restorative History's Emmett Till Collecting Project. Labode also is chair of the African American History Curatorial Collective at the museum and works in two divisions—Political & Military History and Home & Community Life. Her area of concentration is African American social justice history. In addition, Labode is a member of the History of African American Fundraising Collecting Initiative, pursued in collaboration with several colleagues. Throughout her career she has worked at museums in Colorado and taught history and museum studies at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis, where she was also a public scholar of African American history and museums.
